What is GMS?

Answer: gmsbusinessnetwork.com or GMS is a small business network dedicated to the promotion and support of small business owners throughout New Jersey. We provide practical low cost solutions and services for our entire network. We then take our entire network and promote it to the local community.

What is the main objective of GMS?

Answer: There are 2 parts to this answer.

Part I – Our first objective is to promote our network and create an environment where our members can easily utilize each other and create long term relationships. Great companies don’t flourish in isolation. Good businesses work with other good businesses. Great businesses work with many good businesses.

Part II – Our second objective is to take this quality network of outstanding business owners and expose it to the local community. We pride ourselves in putting together a quality business network that greatly reduces the risk of requesting the services of a business for the first time.

How long have you been in business?

Answer: Incorporated in September of 1999 with the website going live on Feb 1st, 2000 with 50 original members.

Where are you located?

Answer: Our office is located in Belmar, New Jersey. Specifically 700A 10th Ave.

Do you charge referral fees?

Answer: Never! Your leads are yours to keep and we only ask that you treat all GMS leads and all your other customers like gold…because they are.

How do I become a member?

Answer: If you are a quality business owner, the first step is to contact us. You can request a phone call by simply filling out our contact form.

We have met every business owner in person in an effort to protect not only the reputation of GMS but also the reputations of businesses in our network. It also allows you the opportunity to get to know us personally. When we hand your business card to someone, the potential customer feels much more comfortable with the referral.

How is GMS different from other networking organizations?

Answer: First off, we salute any networking or business organization that support the growth of entrepeneurs and small business owners in any way. It’s our belief that small business owners are the backbone of America.

GMS is different from other networking organizations in our focus, delivery, and variety of services.

Our focus is on quality, small business owners that are service related. Thus the name givemeservice.com. Non-quality and un-ethical businesses need not apply and will be removed quickly due to feedback of other members. Businesses that sell products, can become members, but they must service what they sell. For example… An auto repair shop sells auto products, but they also install and service the products sold. However, an auto supply store only is not our focus.

How is GMS different from other advertising alternatives?

Answer: Advertising is a word we never use when we discuss who we are or what we do. Simply put, we are not advertising, at least not in a traditional sense.

We are a networking organization who’s aim is to create an environment in which small business owners can build strong working relationships as well as personal ones. As our network grows, so does each members potential customer base. This network is our pride and joy and we proudly expose it in a variety of ways. It’s from that exposure and members activity that businesses are able to increase their bottom lines at a low cost. There simply is no better way to grow your business than word of mouth. Quality businesses know this too be true. We help promote and spread your business name by structured word of mouth techniques. An example of this is our testimonials page.

How is a GMS webpage different from my own web site?

Answer: A webpage is just that – One page. A web site is a bunch of pages tied together in a unified way.

All members receive one webpage, a GMS page, on our website gmsbusinessnetwork.com free with membership. This GMS page conveys important information about your company, photos of your work or place of business, a map link, an email link (if you have one), and a website link (if applicable) so that visitors can learn about you quickly and easily.

The reason a GMS webpage is valuable, is that for those without a web presence we give you one quickly and at a low cost. The reason a GMS page is perfect for those with a website already is that we help drive local traffic to your existing site with the link placed on your GMS page. It is a great compliment to your existing website.

Can I get my own web site?

Answer: Yes! We also develop complete website projects if you would like your own website under at your own domain name. We always encourage businesses to obtain an Internet presence. It is a very cost effective way to expose your company to the public and keep your current clients posted on new services and products. Non-members welcome!

Can I get more than one listing on GMS?

Answer: Yes. Additional listings can be purchased for only $10 per month, but the listing must make good business sense. For example, a janitorial business can have an additional listing under Business to Business, but not under Sports & Recreation.

Are you similar to barter organizations?

Answer: No. We have nothing to do with any of the business relationships you establish. If you wish to barter with a fellow GMS member that is your choice. But… there are no fees ever paid to GMS other than membership dues.

Can a membership be terminated?

Answer: Yes. Our members reputations are important to them and we are chartered to protect them by carefully analyzing consumer and member feedback. Once we feel a member is no longer of high quality or ethical standards, we remove them without hesitation. This has happened in the past and we feel removing a non-quality business is just as important as adding a quality business. We will quickly do both.

Answer: GMS is a quality small business network that we are proud to share with you – the consumer so that and remove many of the risks associated with using a new business or service. We have met every business owner in person and you will save time and money when you utilize the network. Feel free to browse our site, get information on any of the hundreds of business owners in the network and either contact the business directly or contact us if you have any questions. We are here for you!

In what areas are your businesses located?

Answer: Our members are located throughout NJ, primarilly Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties.

Do I have to pay a referral fee?

Answer: Never! Our service is free to the public.

Why should I use a GMS business?

Answer: There are many reasons to use a GMS member, but the most important one is that you immediately are utilizing a business that understands that it will be held accountable for the service it provides. Not just to GMS, but also to the other business owners in our network. Our members have all been met in person and when you mention our name its like having someone you know recommending them. We appreciate your feedback on every business you use and thank you in advance for your participation. In addition, you will receive a discount from every member that can provide one without violating N.J. law. Let us help take the risk out of using a new service.

How do I receive my GMS discount?

Answer: Note the contact on every GMS page you use and remind the business of the GMS discount at the time of service. They are under contract to provide whatever discounted is stated on their webpage. If there is ever a problem, please contact us.

What is the best way to contact a GMS owner?

Answer: Every business should have a posted telephone number and if email is available, a link at the bottom of the webpage should be present. If you have trouble contacting a business, feel free to contact us and we will provide immediate assistance.

Do you want feedback about your members?

Answer: Yes. Your feedback is extremely important to us.

What do you do with customer feedback?

Answer: If the comments are positive, we post them on our testimonials page and let our entire network know about it. If they are negative, which is extremely rare, we research the problem thoroughly and will try and resolve the issue quickly. If the issue is un-resolvable and the customer has been treated poorly, we will drop that member immediately and work with the customer as best we can to resolve the issue.

May I recommend a business?

Answer: Yes. Just like the rest of our network, we grow mainly through referrals and word of mouth. The business you recommend must be of high standards and willing to meet with us in person. If they become a member, we will send you a gift as thanks.
